11 – 14. VI. 2008 CONVOY SECURITY DRIVING - UGANDA
Between 11 and 14 June, the DEP Agents alongside with the E.S.A. instructors took part in a special training course which was organized in the very heart of Black Africa near Lake Victoria in the bush between Entebbe international airport and Kampala, the capital city of Uganda.The classes ranged from the course of Defensive Driving - High Range driving, Bush Driving Low Range driving and the special Field Security Driving.
The training course was organized for the workers of European and American embassies in Africa.
The training themes included, among many others: how to drive and survive, live and complete the task, what to do when the car gets caught in the mud. Detailed maintenance of a utility vehicle, chocke points, safe heavens, route reconesance, alternative roads, evacuation directions, which are so popular on the roads of Africa.
Another element of the training course was the preparation of the drivers and the escort staff for being stopped by enemy, being entrapped and the response to being fired at.
