18 – 22. IV. 2008  SECURITY SUMMIT - RUSSIA

ESA instructors in Russia

The Russian Federation is known worldwide as being the home of extraordinary agents-operators. Combat system, determination, huge experience of war combined with the eastern mentality make Spetsnaz a power recognized all over the world. Although nowadays, the Russian security system is scarcely known, people and their work are greatly respected.

The instructors from ESA went to the Moscow counterterrorism center – CENTER VITYAZ, invited by the father of Russian anti-terrorism, Sergey Lysuk. The aim of the meeting was exchanging training experience and presentation of working systems, which in combination with joint tactic activities were the opportunity to challenge ESA’s techniques in foreign surrounding.

An agent/instructor -Thomas “Rapid”, presented his shooting standards and rapid-shooting school – all the routines were performed on GLOCK 17 pistol. He tutored about working with VIP clients according to a convention valid in many EU countries. Russian soldiers often go abroad, namely to Europe, with the aim of working as security guards. System as well as the law differs remarkably from their own, therefore such change of training scheme was extremely useful and rewarding.

The instructors from Vityaz center showed methods of using AK47 carbine, including using it as a back-up weapon in CP. Spetsnaz achieved perfection in making the best use of this device and passing on to handguns. The training methods and tactics handed over by the Vityaz instructors added to the Academy’s knowledge of working with carbines. Vityaz system differs considerably from the American school, commonly known around the world.

Dr Andrzej Bryl visited Mocsow as well. He sign an agreement on cooperation and High-Risk trainings in Russia. The agreement enables ESA together with the Russians to organize High-Risk PMC and CP trainings within the territory of Russian Federation and befriended countries. What is more, amicable relations with Russia are invaluable in performing joint security operations in its territory.

The training sessions mostly took place in lecturing halls and indoor shooting range. ESA’s instructors displayed multimedia presentations depicting their instructional progress. Tactic activities and shot-less training was done within the Center area. Rapid lectures were attended by a large group of Russian special units soldiers. Because due to political and official reasons they cannot enter certain countries nor leave Russia, ESA training was at large interest.

Apart from instructors, ESA sent two DEP agents-operators to a thorough training in Russian CP system in Moscow. The Russian agents also took part in this difficult training, which revealed some nuance in the Russian school, its difference but still accurateness of some procedures in those surroundings. Thanks to the training as well as advanced language practice, DEP agents are able to proceed with security projects in the Russian federation territory. Subsequently it gives Russian agents the opportunity to act as DEP agents-residents in the territory of Russia.
